We are an Erasmus residence during the academic year and in summer we mostly host people doing internships or summer courses, but we also accept other guests that are spending summer in Porto or are visiting the city (short and long stays).
Erasmus is an unforgettable experience and our aim is to make your time in Porto as good as possible, that’s why we provide personalized help integrating you into your new life in Porto. Here, in Joy 907, we always try to create a safe, fun and family environment.
Most other places treat students as children or vandals. We aim to treat them as responsible adults. Unlike most places we allow visitors, including overnight guests, and as our residency has large common spaces, we also agree on organization of parties there. It’s important to have in mind that with those benefits come responsibilities. The Portuguese culture is very laid back and it’s common for foreigners to think that rules tend to be flexible and penalties very soft. This is not the case at Joy 907. Our rules are fair and based on common sense. We are open to discussing and adjusting them, and even on special circumstances allowing for exceptions, because we think that communication is the key.
We believe in responsibility, politeness and common sense of our guests, that’s why we don’t limit their freedom (in the reasonable sense of the word – don’t parade in residency naked if any other guest doesn’t feel comfortable with that 😉 )
